Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a cloud computing offering from Amazon. It consists of hundreds of products that can be paid for only as they are used. For example, an EC2 instance is the core products offered by AWS. You can build as many instances as you like, but you are only charged for them while they are running. This can be a great cost savings if you have workload that only runs for short periods of time.
With hundreds of products available, there are a ton of options for how you can get the most from cloud computing. Explore the AWS Cloud Products page for details on all the offerings.
It is important to note that there are many cloud providers out there. AWS is, perhaps, the most well-known, but Microsoft Azure has a substantial presence and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) also has a large footprint. There are numerous other, smaller, providers to choose from as well.
